Coastal air is the whole brief. Salt finds every unprotected bit of steel, and a monsoon that arrives in June decides what can be poured in May. So the roof overhangs are deep enough to keep rain off the walls, the openings are placed to pull air through rather than just let light in, and the fittings were specified for the coast rather than picked from a Hyderabad catalogue. The owners are not on site, so every stage is photographed and sent, whether or not anyone asks.
